As if wars, pandemics and supply shortages aren't enough to be concerned with, now we have China taking it upon themselves to rewrite the Holy Bible! Yes, you read that right! According to CBN NEWS, who interviewed Todd Nettleton, the spokesman for The Voice of the Martyrs, China has reportedly decided to write their own version of the Bible and apparently, it's going to be more suitable for their communist beliefs. Some might think it is a possibility that this act could have taken place before. Is it a possibility the Bible may have lost some info throughout the many years of translations and different versions? How can we be sure The Good Book holds all of the treasured information we were supposed learn? Well, a discovery of ancient artifacts called The Dead Sea Scrolls might be all the proof we need. Back in 1947 these hand written scrolls were discovered in Qumran. "Among the scrolls are partial or complete copies of every book in the Hebrew Bible (except the book of Esther)." according to deadseascrolls.org. Even if every single original word is not included, several prophesies written in the Bible have actually come to pass. Take a look at this article, 10 Bible Prophecies That Have All Come to Pass, by Robert Rite; (10 Bible Prophecies That Have All Come to Pass - (christan.info)). Although the fulfilled prophesies should be plenty of proof that it does have factual content, there are also several scriptures that carry a lot of power when spoken in faith. The very fact that the leaders of a Communist country, meaning leaders who openly express they value control and power, think it's not only necessary, but beneficial for them to change the message our God so graciously made available to us as a guide in life, shows they also know the power within the sacred verses. What are your views?
If the Chinese Communist Party announced this in 2019 and projected it would take them approximately 10 years, that means we are between 2 and 3 years into this sacrilegious process. What is the purpose of this? When CBN NEWS asked Todd Nettleton this question, he suggested, “The issue for the Chinese Communist Party is control. It is always about control,” he said. “And they see the … Christian message as something that would take control away from the communist party.”
Rather than citizens waking up and pledging allegiance to a loving God and pondering ways to serve Jesus, Nettleton said the government’s goal is for Chinese nationals to wake up every day and say, “How can I serve the party today? How can I be a good communist today?”
Nettleton goes on to tell us, “The only way you can legally get a Bible in China is at a registered church and if those are mostly in the big cities. [and] if you’re in a rural area, you have almost no access to Bibles,” So, if they do happen to get a bible into their hands, it will most likely be this new book and not the true Word of God since the Chinese government dictates what is allowed in the places of worship. What is your take on this?
CBN NEWS also mentioned learning from Nettleton that in China 'they have taken down images of Jesus and, in some cases, replaced them with pictures of Chinese President Xi Jinping and also replaced Christian hymns with communist party anthems.' It could be perceived as an attempt to phase out The Savior. Potentially un-familiarizing and redesigning what Christianity stands for within society. Do you think this is perhaps paving a portion of the road that leads to the antichrist?
